I found out about Kode With Klossy in 2022 on LinkedIn while living in Delhi, India. Luckily, since the applications were still open, I applied and eventually became a scholar. I was in the virtual web development camp where I learnt how to code a website for the first time properly. My experience attending the camp was amazing, and I knew I wanted to participate again to learn more. I moved to London in 2023, something I did not see coming, right after I had already gotten my acceptance for the virtual camp again for the summer. Out of curiosity, I checked the locations for the in-person camps, and it turned out that there was an in-person camp in London so I requested the kwk team for a change of camps, which they allowed. This was such a huge help for me as the camp allowed me to make my first friends after moving to London and build networks here. I learn app development for the first time and had a really fun time with the other scholars at the camp. Pearl was the first person I reached out to and made friends with at the camp, and it was only my luck that when I became an IA in 2024, she was my co-instructor assistant for both the camps we taught in the summer. I genuinely had such an amazing experience being able to teach with a familiar face. I am going to be an IA again this summer, and this time I will have the opportunity to teach alongside Mei, one of the scholars from the camps Pearl and I were IAs at. The Kode With Klossy community has truly been amazing, especially the alumni camps where I met one of my closest friends, Mariam. This program and the alumni community truly eased my transition to adapting to a different country and allowed me to make some great friends along the way.

Participating in the program allowed me to apply and serve as an IA during the summers. Becoming an IA was such a great experience that it allowed me to work part-time as a teacher for after-school coding clubs, as well as gain a mentor at Google from my time as an IA there. I am currently finishing school and will be pursuing Computer Science at university.
